A good way to introduce Concórdia is as a city with one of the best levels of quality of life in the state of Santa Catarina.

Being one of the largest pork producers in Brazil, the city, which counts on almost 3 thousand familiar rural properties has an economy based on pork raising. It is proudly the home of the headquarters of Sadia and of the Emprapa National Center for Pork and Poultry Research which introduces state-of-the-art technology into rural properties.

Those elements boost gastronomic tourism. The production and industrialization of poultry and pork, besides dairy products, are the economic basis of the city, which is also a tourist destination due to its privileged location with many natural attractions such as rivers, water falls, hills, beautiful farms and green areas.

Visitors should take their time to see the nice-looking landscape of the downtown closed streets, Dogello Goss Square and the lake of the Itá river dam, the typical folk shows that happen every year such as the National Pig Roast Festival (carried out for 2 decades).
